Hi Im Nicola and im 27. My Husband who is currently In hospital ungoing the ileo-anal pouch reconstruction he also is 27. He had his operation on Thurs 21/02/08. the operation lasted 5 hours which needles to say it is a masive operation, He was taken onto High Dependency Unit which i was told he would be on there for at least 2 days this was yesterday today he has been taken back to a general ward he is doing that well. My husband was messed about and told there was nothing wrong with him sent home with tablets for diahorria, It took me nealy a week for someone to listen to us about how ill he really was. in the end he was that poorly with it he was taken into theatre as an emerency (this was last june). After the op the surgen came to see me and said these was he exact words "I would of give him 2 Days to live" He was that bad this operation has saved his life and hopefully this second op fingers crossed this will give him his life back. I wish everyone the luck in the world who has to deal with this illness its not nice. good luck and take care

Russ, I emailed you some info. You should be fine. The reversal for me was much easier than the first surgery.

I have an upcoming Colostomy Reversal surgery and needless to say Im a little worried about the whole surgery thing in general. Just wondered how everything went with you, you know, to ease my mind a little. Im thinking maybe I'll calm down after I've talked with someone who has been there and done that. So you have my email, anything would be appreciated. Thanks.
